Clinical Mental Health and Addiction

The main focus of the research groups within mental health and substance abuse division at Akershus University Hospital is to understand how patients can achieve improvement if they are affected by mental disorders or substance dependence.

Our projects encompass children, adolescents, and adults, including both healthy participants and individuals with various mental health conditions. We investigate the significance of biological, psychological, and social factors in the occurrence of different mental disorders and in the recovery of patients affected by mental illness
