Biomarker facility

Ahus Biomarker Facility for Clinical Research Studies (ABF) in Interdisciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry was established in autumn 2023 in collaboration with the KG Jebsen Center for Heart Markers, Campus Ahus.

ABF assists research environments with measurements of biomarkers such as heart markers. We offer accredited analyzes in accordance with ISO 15189. We have research bioengineers and personnel in the infrastructure who can assist with analysis.

We also make it possible for scholarship holders to process and analyze samples themselves, subject to training from our staff. Projects and tests can be entered via digital request via RedCap.

ABF can offer analyzes on instruments from Roche cobas pro (e-801 and c503). In addition, we can offer Interdisciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry's large analysis repertoire,  labfag.no . Each project will make an agreement with ABF that regulates costs and any academic collaboration with the KG Jebsen Center for cardiac markers and/or Interdisciplinary laboratory medicine and medical biochemistry.

All projects must also acknowledge the contribution from ABF to their work by including this in the Acknowledgment: "We acknowledge the contribution by Akershus Biomarker Facility, funded by Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen (KG Jebsen Center for Cardiac Biomarkers, grant number SKGJ-MED-024 ) and Akershus University Hospital, to our work".
